  • Some Details of this Past Weekend

Hello, again.  I thought it was time to post some details of this past weekend.

    Day One
Friday had a hectic start because of the events of the day before.  I had two finals exams Thursday and I decided to drive home to drop my brother off for the weekend. I thought I was going to be leaving from home and driving straight to Alvarado, TX, but those plans were severely altered.  The dry cleaners I used for my dress shirt did not have my shirt done when they had told me it would be ready by Thursday afternoon. I was furious.  Friday I had to get up and drive back to Nacogdoches and then drive from there to Alvarado, TX.  Not only did I oversleep from Thursday night, but I didn't make it back into Nacogdoches until about 1:45pm. After I picked up the shirt, I started the drive to Alvarado. About halfway through I realized I was probably going to miss the wedding rehearsal at 4:30pm. My best friend called and I told him the situation. He was very understanding and was not mad at all.  Shortly thereafter, my car started giving me trouble. At first I thought I ran over something, but then it started getting worse the closer I got to my destination. My car backfired and hesitated when I tried to accelerate.  I called my dad and he suggested I got some bad gas somewhere along the way. He advised me to stop somewhere when I got the chance to get some STP gas treatment and see if that helped.  Right when I made it to Cedar Hill (some 35 minutes away from Alvarado) I not only hit rush hour traffic, but my problems got worse. I made it to a local gas station there and brought some STP. It seemed to help right away. After I made it to my hotel in Alvarado, I drove over to where the rehearsal dinner was taking place. When I arrived around 6:40pm, all the people present applauded.  After dinner, I went back to my hotel for some much needed sleep. Altogether I drove almost 450 miles in one day. That's all for now. Next time I'll mention what happened on days two and three. Until then, Peace out and God Bless.

  • The end of this week, next week.

Hello, again.  So far this week is going pretty well. I am happy that the first summer session of summer school is almost over.  I realize that the next few days will be pretty stressful for me, but I know I can get through it all.  Sometimes I wonder why I decided to get back into school and put myself through this process over and over again.  Proverbs 3:5 tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on your own understanding.  Proverbs 3:6 goes on to say that in all our ways acknowledge the Lord and He will direct your path. These two scriptures tell us to not only trust in God, but to also to make sure God is apart of what we are doing.  My mom has told me and my siblings to always make sure God is in what we were trying to pursue in life. As I get older, I'm starting to understand we she meant when she told us that. Life is just one big learning process. As long as we realize that God must be apart of our lives in order to succeed, He will provide for us.  I take solace knowing that fact, which is why I try not to worry when times in life get tough.  My best friend is getting married next week, which I'm very happy for him.  I 'm glad he was able to find someone he would not mind spending the rest of his life with.  Personally, I'm just waiting for the right time and situation before I do anything like that. I wish that time would come pretty soon, but I'm a patient person .  Well, that's all for now.  Until the next time, Peace out and God Bless.

  • Life in General.

Hello, again.  It's been an awful long time since I have been on here.  Life has changed for me dramatically. I'm in graduate school now, working on getting my master's and teaching certification in History.  Personally, some things that have happened over the last few weeks and months will stay with me for the rest of my life.  I won't reveal those on here, but all I know is that it is time to move on.  Hopefully it won't be another year or so before I decide to post something else.  Until the next time, Peace out and God Bless.
